Do you feel different, or like no one understands you? Are you uncertain about where you fit in the world? Maybe you came out to someone and they didn’t get it, or worse, they rejected you. My aim is to understand what’s troubling you so we can work together toward whatever vision you have for therapy. If you’re feeling stuck, but ready to create the life you’ve been dreaming of, let’s work together.
My passion is in working with issues around significant life transitions (some might call me a gender therapist), coming out in later life, relationships, and sexuality. This includes working with individuals who are transgender (or genderqueer/non-binary), intersex, lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, or questioning (LGBTQI), folks who identify as polyamorous or non-monogamous (and monogamous couples, too); and couples in or thinking about an open relationship.
I have my masters in social work from the University of Pittsburgh. I am also a certified DEEP (Dynamic, Enriched, Experiential Psychotherapy) therapist. For me, being a DEEP therapist means taking a relational therapeutic approach that is rooted in interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, and emotion theory as the way to healing and fuller authentic expression.
